Lecturer

Victor Rossi teaches application software in the area of engineering. Related software design tools continue to evolve and create efficiencies in all engineering disciplines which include: surface topography; building systems; electrical circuit virtualization; mechanical components and their interaction. Also addressed are new fabrication technologies realized by automation, such as additive manufacturing (3d printing) and increased precision in subtractive technologies such as laser-engraving/cutting and computer-numerical-controlled (CNC) machining. UVM Engineering recognized the need for our graduates to have mastery of automated design tools when entering the workplace and hired Mr. Rossi to
develop and teach several related courses. These courses include:

  • Engr 002 Graphical Communications
  • Engr 112 Building Information Modeling
  • Engr 114 Advanced Three Dimensional Drafting
  • Engr 116 Virtual Instrument Engineering
  • Engr 195 Modeling with Civil 3D
  • ME 081 Mechanical Engineering Shop Experience

The U.S. Department of Labor also recognized the need for modernized employment skills and offered a grant program – the Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) grant. With decades of experience in course development and as a computer system administrator, Mr. Rossi was aptly prepared for this opportunity and used the grant to develop and offer to our students a Certificate in Computer Aided Engineering Technology.
