The Teaching Academy Awards for Teaching and Educational Excellence, along with the UVMHN Medical Group Educator of the Year Awards, are annual honors designed to acknowledge outstanding contributions by members of the Larner educator community.

Teaching Academy Awards for Teaching and Educational Excellence

Innovation in Curriculum Development or Pedagogy Award

Body

This award is intended to recognize an individual or team who developed an approach to teaching and learning that is innovative, intellectually rigorous, and engaging. Examples include creating an educational resource; developing a new course or module; and redesigning an existing course, clerkship, or program.

Eligibility

All Larner College of Medicine Faculty are eligible. Faculty members must be nominated by Teaching Academy members, department chairs, or key education leaders. Nominees are not required to be current members of the Teaching Academy. Formal letters of recommendation are not required and will not be considered by the Review Committee. Instead, we ask that you complete the Teaching Award Nomination Form. The Teaching Academy will contact individual nominees to request their CV.

Body

The Teaching Academy Teaching Award Review Committee solicits nominations from the Continuing Medical and Interprofessional Education (CMIE) department each year. Awardees will be recognized at the annual Teaching Academy New Member Induction and Awards Ceremony.
