General Application Information
- All applicants whose primary application has been verified will receive an email with a link to the secondary application. Application deadlines.
- An application fee of $127 must be paid at the time the supplemental application is submitted. The secondary application fee is automatically waived for those who qualified for a fee waiver from the AAMC Fee Assistance Program. If your fee waiver was approved after your primary application was submitted, please forward the approval email to our office so, we can process your fee waiver. The application fee for the supplemental application is non-refundable.
- The deadline for receipt of the completed secondary application is December 14 at midnight Eastern Time. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that the secondary application is received by the deadline as extensions will not be granted.
- We require all applicants to complete CASPer (Computer-Based Assessment for Sampling Personal Characteristics) within the current application cycle. Completion of CASPer is mandatory to receive an invitation to interview. Only the CASPer exam is required. Sign up for a CASPer session or view a list of our acceptable test dates (PDF). The last acceptable exam date is December 5th, 2024.
- A completed application includes a submitted secondary and fee, letters of recommendation, and registration for the CASPer no later than December 13, 2024.

Early Decision Program
Early Decision Program
Our Early Decision Program (EDP) process allows medical school applicants to request and receive an early decision regarding their application to the Larner COM at the University of Vermont prior to seeking an acceptance elsewhere. Successful applicants are holistically comparable to the prior years' cohort. If our College of Medicine is an applicant’s first choice, they may participate under the following conditions:
- The completed primary application must be submitted to the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) by June 12, 2024.
- The MCAT must have been taken no later than end of June of the application year.
- The Secondary application fee, Supplemental Application, Letters of Recommendation, and additional supporting documents must be on file with the Medical Student Admissions Office by July 31, 2024.
- They must meet with the Associate Dean of Admissions between February 1st - April 1st of the application year to discuss their application and receive approval to apply by emailing lcom.admissions@med.uvm.edu.
Applicants who are not admitted to the Early Decision Program will be considered in the regular applicant pool by request.
Communications
We will communicate primarily via email; therefore, it is essential you have a reliable email account that you monitor on a regular basis.
Changes/Updates
Changes in your email, name or address must be updated in AMCAS. Additional letters of recommendation or updates are not necessary, however we will accept updates, which may be uploaded as a PDF on the secondary portal.

You are responsible for ensuring that all materials required to complete your application reach our office before the deadline. Applications which are not completed by our deadline will not be processed.
Interview Dates
The earliest notifications regarding an interview invitation will be sent in July by email. Interviews will be held between August and February with acceptances offered on a rolling basis through orientation.
