Recover Deleted Email

This guide provides steps for restoring messages and folders that were accidentally moved to the Deleted Items folder, as well as steps for how to recover messages when the Deleted Items folder was emptied.

Important messages should never be stored in the deleted items folder

The Deleted Items folder is essentially the Trash folder of your Exchange email account, and will automatically purge any messages older than 90 days of age.

Consider using the Archive folder for messages that may be important in the future.

When a message has been purged from the Deleted Items folder, it will be recoverable for 30 days via the Recover deleted items feature. Please note that this feature will not restore folder hierarchy, only messages.
