Rachelle graduated from NYU in 2014 with a BFA in Photography, working as a photo editor for a decade before deciding to pivot to food systems work. She participated in, and later acted as Program Director for, the environmental education program Eco Practicum, where she gained foundational knowledge on large- and small-scale agriculture and natural resource management in upstate New York and Pennsylvania. She later went on to work for family-owned sheep farms in Iceland and Norway, vegetable farms around the Northeastern US, and completed a certificate to become a Master Composter in New York City. She’s currently studying Food Systems with a focus on the implementation of agroforestry systems in the Northeast. Rachelle loves hiking and spending time in nature, reading, cooking, knitting, and sewing.
