2025 Annual Meeting
We had an incredible meeting in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, from April 7 to 11! The event brought together Project Teams, Agriculture Ministry Representatives, and invited speakers to explore the transformative power of agroecology in food systems.
This edition placed particular emphasis on strengthening collaborations, strategic dialogues and the “Agroecology and One Health” approach to sustainable and equitable transformation of food systems.
Check out our photos and enjoy the energy of our community of Practice (CoP)!

Meeting Highlights:
- We kicked off in a circle with the gift of a beautiful traditional hat and a warm welcome from the Regional Team.
- Paul Roger from the Global Collaboration for Resilient Food Systems (CRFS) program of McKnight Foundation renewed their commitment to support the initiatives in the region.
- Panel discussions, research posters, group work, workshops and the time together witnessed the transdisciplinary efforts of Farmer Organizations, Research Institutions, Organizations and Governments. The CoP fosters co-creation processes where different forms of knowledge inform each other.
- Participants spoke openly about the challenges their work must face with insecurity, unpredictable climate and malnutrition.
- The “Agroecology and One Health” approach was welcome by the CoP that is cultivating more and more a systemic view of the food system and the integration of biophysical, social, political and economic dimensions.
- Advocacy and innovative ideas in agroecology are at the center of the conversation to strengthen synergies and the flow between local, territorial and global work.
Thank you to all the speakers, attendees, and organizers for making the 19th CoP meeting a dynamic and salient event.
We look forward to next year when the CoP is going to celebrate its 20th anniversary!!
