Walter Brownsword (he/him) is the Outreach Coordinator at Counseling and Psychiatry Services (CAPS). Walter earned his Master's in Counseling Psychology from Antioch New England Graduate School and is a Licensed Psychologist-Master in Vermont and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Walter likes to help people understand and heal from their difficult interpersonal and cultural experiences, and strongly believes that people are resilient and powerful at overcoming difficulty. Walter's areas of clinical experience and interest include graduate students, race, culture, sexual orientation, supervision and training, substance misuse and recovery, grief and loss, psychological trauma, pro-feminist treatment, and all areas of diversity and social justice. Prior to joining Counseling and Psychiatry Services, Walter worked with youth at risk, probationers/parolees, and domestic violence offenders.
