The Graduate College fosters a culture in which the value of diverse and high-impact careers in the academy, government and the public sector, industry and business, and the non-profit or social impact sector is broadly understood and embraced.

Our graduate programs, the Graduate College, and the wider university provide resources and training opportunities for graduate students to prepare for career success as future leaders across all sectors.

We empower our students to build and narrate their training as a story of growing competencies in research, synthesis and analysis, communication, project design and management, collaboration and leadership, as well as cultural sensitivity skills as they equip themselves for careers across the academy and beyond.

Individual Development Plan (IDP)

The Graduate College requires Ph.D. students and encourages all graduate students to develop, and update annually, an Individual Development Plan to map out career goals and the steps of their integrated academic and professional development.

Beyond graduate school and beyond professoriate

Beyond Graduate School and Beyond Professoriate are career training platforms. The Graduate College, with the support of OVPR, subscribes to these platforms to support graduate students and postdocs in their career preparation.

Graduate Writing Center

The Graduate Writing Center supports all graduate student writing and communication in all fields, at all stages, and in all forms (including articles, proposals, posters, and more).
