Project Overview

This is a research project carried out by RSENR MS student Holden Sparacino, advised by Dr. Kristine Stepenuck in 2017-18. It was a survey of private snow and ice management contractors in the Lake Champlain Basin. The results of this work are published in a MS thesis by Holden Sparacino: Sparacino, H. (2019). Characterizing the Management Practices and Decision-Making Processes of Winter Maintenance Companies in the Lake Champlain Basin. The University of Vermont and State Agricultural College. They have also been submitted for consideration in the Journal of Environmental Management. If published, that citation would be: Sparacino, H.*, K.F. Stepenuck, and S.E. Hurley. To understand practices of private contractors and use of best reduced salt practices during snow and ice management.
