Forest dynamics and stewardship at a crossroads: science, partnerships, and adaptive strategies for moving forward

The annual conference of the Forest Ecosystem Monitoring Cooperative provides an important opportunity for communication, exchange of ideas, and expanding collaboration around forest ecosystem management and monitoring in the region.

The day will begin with presentations and updates from FEMC Director, Dr. Alison Adams. The plenary session will be led by Dr. Tony D’Amato, who will share his expertise and perspectives on the crossroads we face in forest science and stewardship. Partners from across the region have the opportunity to present their research and monitoring findings, project outcomes, and product releases to support the advancement of forest ecosystem science.

Who Should Attend

All policy makers, researchers, resource managers, students and other stakeholders who work or are interested in northeastern forested ecosystems.

Time and Date

The conference will be held Thursday, November 20, 2025, 8:00am-5:30pm.

Location

The conference is being planned as an in-person event with a hybrid option for participating remotely. The in-person event will be held at the University of Vermont Davis Center in Burlington, Vermont.

Registration

Registration will close on November 4 for in-person registration so that we can accurately determine catering numbers. We will keep registration open for online attendance through November 7.

Registration fee

$70 for both in-person and virtual options.
