    This year’s dairy judging tour will visit two farms:
    #1 Howvale Farm, 30 Howe Lane, Tunbridge, VT 05077
    #2 Hoyt Hill Farm, 61 Hoyt Hill Rd, Tunbridge, VT 05077

    Registered 4-H dairy members ages 8 to 18 (as of Jan. 1, 2024) will judge various breeds of bovine dairy animals at two farms that have generously opened their doors to the 4-H program. Come test your knowledge of conformation and learn about desirable traits from experts in the field.

    Event Schedule:
    10:00 a.m. Check in at Howvale Farm in Tunbridge
    10:30 a.m. Judging begins and will continue until contest is complete.

    Participants should:
    Bring washable boots, clipboard, pencil, bagged lunch, water bottle, and snacks. Dress for the weather as we will be in the barns and outside as well.

    The following volunteers are needed for a successful dairy tour – please contact Molly to sign up:
    * 2 Adults for Registration: Sign up youth in proper age category and number ID. Hand each youth 6 score cards (one for each class).
    * 2 Adult Monitors: Collect dairy placing/cuts from judge and score cards from youth, and take to scoring table.
    * 2 Scorers: Use livestock judging app to calculate score. Enter scores on score sheet. Tally final scores and assist with Ribbon preparation.
    * 2 or 3 experienced dairy leaders who can listen to Oral Reasons.

    oin faculty, staff and medical students from UVM Larner College of Medicine and UVM Extension 4-H for a series of interactive workshops, promoting practical health and wellness knowledge for your own life and to share with your community.

    Workshop topics include:
    Healthcare and Healthy Living: Careers in Healthcare and factors that go into living a “healthy life”
    Prevention Strategies: What you can do to enhance personal and community health
    What is Mental Health and why is it important for overall health?

    Open to youth in 8th-12th grades. Sign up for all 3 workshops to earn a certificate of completion. Space for one-time attendees as available. All workshops to take place on UVM campus, Burlington.

    Open to all youth (ages 8 and older), novice adults, and families – 4-H and non-4-H – with workshops for riders of all levels. Three days of affordable English and Western instruction, workshops, and fun activities for everyone!

    Clinic fee is $60. Fee covers 5 mounted lessons, daily equine workshops, and crafting. Camping fees are additional.
