The UVM Extension Center for Sustainable Agriculture welcomes you to join an upcoming workshop on livestock water systems, which is among key infrastructure for successful grazing systems.

The workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 30, at Vermont State University Morrill Hall in Randolph. Led by Amber Reed of UVM Extension and Ben Gabos and Phil Wilson of the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets, the session will include afternoon demonstrations outdoors and will cover:

  • Water system design and implementation
  • Pressure tank needs
  • Water tub and float valve setups
  • Pump stations
  • Education about alternative water systems
  • Assistance available to farmers

The livestock water systems workshop is co-sponsored by the UVM Extension Center for Sustainable Agriculture, Vermont State University, Gallagher, and the Northeast Grass-Fed Beef Initiative.
