Due to potential afternoon thunderstorms on Sunday, May 22, the College of Arts and Sciences ceremony will begin at 12 p.m. instead of 12:30 p.m. (30 minutes earlier than originally scheduled). Student lineup for the College of Arts and Sciences ceremony will begin at 11:15 a.m. (30 minutes earlier than originally scheduled).

The 221st University Commencement Main Ceremony and the College of Arts and Sciences Ceremony will both be held outdoors on the University Green on Sunday, May 22, 2022.   Tickets will not be required for the University Main Ceremony or the College of Arts and Sciences Ceremony.  For line-up times and locations visit the schedule page.

Very warm weather and a slight chance of rain is forecasted for Sunday, May 22 in the morning and early afternoon. Please dress appropriately for the weather, taking the heat and rain into account. There will be water stations set up on the University Green; bring a reusable bottle to help keep you hydrated.

The Davis Student Center is an air conditioned venue that will provide indoor viewing of the livestream should you need to move indoors due to the heat.

The formal ceremony where the president will confer baccalaureate, master, doctoral and doctor of medicine degrees, and honorary degrees. The commencement address will be given and student awards will be presented.

College and School Ceremonies

Saturday, May 21 and Sunday, May 22

All master and doctoral degree candidates will be hooded and presented with their diploma at the Graduate College Ceremony on Saturday, May 21. View details

Honors College Scholars in the Honors College will be recognized at a ceremony on Saturday, May 21. View details

All doctor of medicine degree candidates will be hooded,  take their professional oath, and receive their diploma at the Larner College of Medicine Ceremony on Sunday, May 22. View details

Undergraduate students will receive their diploma at their home college/school ceremony scheduled throughout the afternoon following the University Commencement Main Ceremony on Sunday, May 22. At these ceremonies, graduates will walk across the stage and receive their diploma. View details.
