Commencement

Graduate Checklist

With so much going on, we hope this checklist helps you feel organized and ready for the big day. How many can you check off already?

  • REQUIRED GRADUATION FORMS: Each College/School has their own required graduation form. Have you completed yours? Visit the important graduation information page for more info

  • DIPLOMA NAME: Your diploma name should have been indicated when you submitted your required graduation forms. If you have changes or questions please reach out to your college/school. Your diploma name will be used on your diploma, in the commencement program, and will be called when you cross the stage to receive your diploma.

  • PERMANENT ADDRESS: Don't forget to confirm your permanent mailing address from within myUVM to ensure that you receive important mailings (such as your diploma, if you are not attending commencement events).

  • RSVP! let us know what you’re planning to attend via the RSVP link (undergraduates only). You can edit your previously entered response at this link as well. Please RSVP by no later than Monday, May 4.

  • ORDER YOUR REGALIA: Academic regalia (cap and gown) for bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees will be available to purchase either in person at the UVM Bookstore in the Dudley H. Davis Center or through the UVM Bookstore website. Regalia is required to participate in commencement ceremonies and celebrations. Regalia will go on sale Monday, April 27th (both in-store and online). Pre-orders are not necessary.  For more information visit Academic Regalia (Cap and Gown).

  • PREREGISTER FOR YOUR PHOTOS: GradImages will photograph each graduate when they cross the stage at their college/school ceremonies. Students are encouraged to pre-register for easy tracking of their proofs and to order prints. On the registration page, search "UVM" or "University of Vermont", select your college or school ceremony, and follow the prompts.

  • REQUEST THE ACCOMMODATIONS YOU (OR YOUR GUESTS) NEED: Graduates will request accommodations via their RSVP in the Commencement invitation; guests will be able to request accommodations and support by completing the ADA Accommodations and Accessible Parking form on our website.

  • CLAIM YOUR TICKETS: The ticket site opens on Wednesday, April 8 at 11:00 am. You will receive an email with instructions on how to claim your tickets on April 8. Note: Tickets are ceremony-specific, and each digital ticket can only be scanned once. See ticketing page for more information.
