"When I teach and learn with children, I feel like I’m in my element. I can appreciate my strengths and see the difference I’m making in my community. When you positively impact someone else, it also impacts everyone they interact with too." –Emma Von Licht '24

Program Overview

Learn By Doing: Community-Based Field Placements in Diverse Settings

Throughout our program, you will link theory with practice by participating in at least four community-based experiences with our partner schools.

Professional coursework and service-learning begins in your first year. In your second and third year, courses connect with field experiences where you observe teachers, learn best practices, and plan literacy, math and inquiry experiences for science and social studies. These experiences culminate in a full-semester teaching internship during your senior year.
