Gain knowledge and develop skills to implement inclusive evidence-based practice serving children and families with diverse needs.

Diverse Field Experiences and Student Teaching Internships

Engage with community-based practicums and internships in diverse, inclusive settings — always supported by dedicated faculty and mentor teachers. Our signature "early and often approach" sets us apart and prepares you for success.

Throughout the program, you will link theory with practice by completing at least four field experiences with our partner schools. These experiences culminate in a full-semester teaching internship during your senior year.

Research Opportunities

Our nationally recognized faculty engage in research on evidence-informed practices that informs our curriculum and teaching methods. Some students get involved with faculty-led research, while others pursue independent study projects.

Teaching Licensure (Birth-Age 21)

Our graduates find career success in Vermont and around the country. This program leads to recommendation for initial Vermont licensure that can be used to acquire a teaching license other states, though the pathway may differ based on the state where you are seeking licensure.
