BURLINGTON, VT. — The University of Vermont's Sustainable Innovation MBA (SI-MBA) has been ranked as the No. 2 Best Green MBA in the nation by The Princeton Review for 2027. At the same time, the Grossman School of Business was recognized among The Princeton Review's Best Business Schools for 2027, placing the school among elite on-campus MBA programs selected nationwide based on institutional data and student feedback.

The Sustainable Innovation MBA has maintained its position among the nation's leading sustainability-focused MBA programs, earning the No. 2 Best Green MBA ranking for a second consecutive year. The ranking also makes SI-MBA the highest-ranked AACSB-accredited Green MBA program in the nation. AACSB accreditation is recognized worldwide as the highest standard of quality in business education, with only a small percentage of institutions offering business degrees worldwide earning the distinction.

"These recognitions reflect the dedication of our faculty, staff, students, alumni, and partners who are committed to developing business leaders capable of creating economic, environmental, and social value," said Dean Vikas Anand. "We're especially proud that these honors are informed by feedback from our students, whose experiences are at the heart of everything we do."

"The SI-MBA was intentionally designed to prepare students for the complex challenges facing organizations and society," said Srini Venugopal. "Being recognized once again as one of the nation's leading Green MBA programs reinforces the value of integrating sustainability, innovation, and experiential learning into every aspect of business education."

In its profile of the Sustainable Innovation MBA, The Princeton Review highlights a program that "truly incorporates sustainability into its entire curriculum" and notes students' appreciation for its "holistic perspective on social business" and focus on "thought leaders focusing on disruptive innovation." Students also praised the close-knit culture, noting that professors know students by name and that the collaborative environment encourages both personal and professional growth.

For Mike Rama, SI-MBA '17 and Deputy Director of Corporate Eco-Forum, the program fundamentally changed how he viewed the relationship between sustainability and business.

"Despite a lifelong passion for nature and biodiversity, I once believed an environment-centered career couldn't align with my professional ambition," said Rama. "SI-MBA completely reframed that belief. The program gave me the business fluency, strategic frameworks, and confidence to merge environmental purpose with enterprise value creation. Through SI-MBA, I learned to think and act intrapreneurially, applying sustainability principles within established organizations."

In addition to the SI-MBA's national ranking, Princeton Review named Grossman among its Best Business Schools for 2027, placing the school among prestigious institutions selected nationwide. Together, the honors reflect a distinctive educational approach that combines personalized learning, experiential education, and a commitment to preparing leaders who create economic, environmental, and social value.

The Princeton Review recognition follows another notable milestone for Grossman. Earlier this year, the school earned a Level 4 (Transforming) distinction in the Positive Impact Rating for the sixth consecutive year. The global rating evaluates how effectively business schools prepare students to contribute to society and advance the idea that business schools should strive to be not only the best in the world, but the best for the world.

The Grossman School of Business combines the entrepreneurial spirit of Vermont with a commitment to innovation, sustainability, and student success. Students customize their educational experience through interdisciplinary themes in Entrepreneurship, Global Business, and Sustainable Business, alongside concentrations in Accounting, Business Analytics, Finance, and Marketing. Internships, case competitions, global learning opportunities, student organizations, and the Professional Engagement And Knowledge System (PEAKS) give students hands-on experiences that connect classroom learning to real-world impact.

Another example of the school's commitment to student success can be seen in its nationally recognized Master of Accountancy (MAcc) program. According to a recent NASBA Candidate Performance dataset, UVM ranked #17 among 721 institutions nationwide on the Uniform CPA Examination, placing the university in the top 2 percent nationally. Among medium-sized accounting programs, UVM ranked #2 out of 295 institutions, placing it in the top 1 percent nationwide. The results also positioned UVM as the #1 Flagship University and #1 Public University in both New England and the Northeast. The achievement reflects a longstanding culture of academic excellence, faculty mentorship, and student support that encourages graduates to pursue professional credentials and leadership opportunities throughout their careers.

These outcomes are closely tied to the qualities students themselves identify as defining the Grossman experience: accessible faculty, engaging classroom experiences, personalized support, and opportunities to apply learning in meaningful ways.

Grossman earned especially strong marks for faculty accessibility and professor quality, reflecting students' consistently positive experiences with engaged faculty and personalized learning environments.

"We congratulate Grossman School of Business along with the other institutions that made our Best Business Schools for 2027 lists," said Rob Franek, Editor-in-Chief of The Princeton Review. "We recommend each and every one of them for their excellent academics, robust experiential learning opportunities, outstanding career services, and the positive feedback we received from their very own customers, their MBA students."

Together, these honors underscore the Grossman School of Business' distinctive approach to business education, one that combines rigorous academics, meaningful student experiences, and a focus on creating positive impact in communities and organizations around the world.
