Information is power, goes the old adage, and in the age of blockchain and big data, the growing field of business analytics is often referred to as "hot".
“The cloud” is now a common topic of conversation, and without even trying, all of us regularly participate in the giving and receiving of big data. For example, each time you download an app on your iPhone, send a request to a LinkedIn contact or visit Instagram or Facebook, you are participating in the big data machine.
That data is very valuable to any organization, so, who are the people who analyze all of this data? They are business analysts, now one of the fastest-growing job fields. The Harvard Business Review calls the position of business analyst or data scientist the “sexiest job of the 21st century.” Business-analyst jobs are predicted to increase by 22 percent by 2020, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
You are invited to take a deep dive into this new world of opportunity by joining us Wednesday March 29, 2017 for our UVM alum led Careers in Business Analytics Panel at the Livak Ballroom in the Davis Center, from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.
