A School of Business Administration Alum has received corporate honors for his work in the General Electric Financial Management Program (FMP). Matthew Jankow (’11) scored above a 95, which is required to earn corporate honors, in his training course. Jankow received a 97 in the class.
GE’s FMP is an intensive two-year entry-level program widely considered to be the premier program of its kind. Some of the nation’s top business leaders, including alumna Charlene Begley, a senior vice-president at GE, have started their careers in the same program. Jankow is currently working at GE Aviation Systems in Grand Rapids, MI in Financial Planning and Analysis.
“My first two exams were on GE Accounting Policies and even though GE has some unique methods, the foundations I learned at the Business School prepared me so well for what I was asked,” said Jankow. “As I have entered into the workforce, especially with my exams at GE, I have felt unbelievable prepared.”
While at the School of Business Administration, Jankow concentrated in Finance and Accounting. He was also a member of the Varsity Lacrosse Team.
“The best part of the Business School in my eyes was the quality of the professors and their genuine care of the students who put forth the effort,” he said. “I have had many professors who I feel I can stay in touch with and will be glad to hear from me in the future.”
Jankow will soon be moving to Cincinnati, OH to begin his second rotation in the program in Business Development.
