Step 5: Getting the VPN Client

Start at the CIT homepage: http://www.uvm.edu/cit/

Choose Software from the left hand column.

On the software page, choose the first link in the text that says UVM Software Archive

Choose the icon that matches your system (Macintosh or Windows)

Scroll down to Cisco VPN Client then click on the dark green Download button at the bottom right of the box.

The rest of this tutorial assumes you are running Microsoft Windows. If you are running MacOS, you should contact CIT for assistance. Call the Helpline at 656-2604 or e-mail helpline@uvm.edu

After choosing Download, a "Save As..." box should come up on the screen—PAY CAREFUL ATTENTION TO WHERE IT IS SAVING TO—you need to be able to find that file.

You can change the destination from the pull down menu at the top to Desktop and move it to a folder later.

Click Save.
