Step 3: Activating your NetID Account

Don’t let anyone tell you that you won’t need it; they have rocks where their brains belong.

("NetID" is a brand new name for what used to be called "zoo"; please bear with those of us who still say "zoo", old habits die hard)

Go here: http://www.uvm.edu/account/

Under the Account Services section, choose Activate Your Account.

Read the agreement and click the button marked Yes

Fill out the form

• Your UVM ID is your Social Security Number
• Pay attention to the date format
• Pick a password

When you finish filling out the form, click the Activate button

You should get a page that says Success, and tells you your user name. This is the halfway done point. If you get a “failed” page instead of Success, try again and watch your typing. If it still doesn’t succeed, contact the registrar immediately because something in your uploaded information may be incorrect.
