Step 4: Configuring your NetID Account

Return to the original account page: http://www.uvm.edu/account/

Further down the page, under Other Useful Stuff, choose Enable your account for domain logins (https://cgi.uvm.edu/cgi-bin/zoo/reset_password/index.cgi)

Enter your NetID and password—you should get another Success page.

Now that you have your NetID set, you will have access to a broad range of resources and services, including the library’s electronic reserves, online journal subscriptions, databases , and more, but—ONLY ON CAMPUS!!

To access UVM resources FROM OFF-CAMPUS, you will need your VPN (virtual privacy network) client installed. The password protected system is restricted to UVM only—strangers from outside can’t get in. Turning on your VPN makes it look to the system like you’re on campus so that you can get access to your resources exactly as if you were here.
