Transportation and Parking Services
We are excited to announce that UVM is partnering with Burlington Electric to support a cleaner, more reliable electric grid.

During times of peak electrical grid demand, ChargePoint stations located in the Wheeler House parking lot may temporarily reduce or pause vehicle charging. Once the peak demand event is over, normal charging automatically resumes with no action required from the end-user.

Grid Smart charging will only be active on UVM’s all‑day use EV charging stations in the Wheeler House parking lot (133 S Prospect St) and no other stations on campus.

Wheeler House EV charging is restricted to UVM faculty and staff parking permit holders Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm. Outside of these times, users must hold any valid UVM parking permit to use the Wheeler House chargers. ParkMobile parking is not available for this location.

Because customers pay only for the energy consumed, Grid Smart charging has no effect on charging session cost. Grid Smart charging helps our community by improving grid reliability, supporting renewable energy integration, and reducing local energy costs.
