Attend the Student Sustainability Leadership Symposium for FREE

Calling all students!

The Office of Sustainability is able to fully sponsor some students to attend the 8th Annual Student Sustainability Student Leaders Symposium (SSLS) on 11/5/17 at Champlain College. Champlain College is a short walk (5-10 min) from UVM.

This conference is specifically designed for students who are involved in sustainability efforts on their campus. The day will feature a campus tour, 21 short (30-45 min) presentations by students and regional young professionals, a keynote address and roundtable discussions. This is a uniquely tailored opportunity for student sustainability leaders to meet and collaborate with peers from other institutions!

The event will run from 10am - 5:30 pm (lunch included). SSLS will showcase sustainable conferencing by hosting regional hubs for students residing a long distance from the Philadelphia region where the main event is being held at Swarthmore. All presentations will be given at Swarthmore and broadcast at Champlain College via Zoom video-conferencing.

To receive funding from our office, please submit this form by 10/20 briefly explaining why you’d like to attend in order to be considered. Selected students will be notified by 10/25 and must confirm their registration for the symposium by 10/30. Chosen students are expected to submit a short description about what they learned from SSLS and how they may be able to apply it to campus in exchange for full coverage of the registration fee.
