Account and System Access
I cannot login to Rally Point. Why?
Your access to Rally Point is linked to your active student status at the University of Vermont. If your student record is currently inactive or you are on a leave-of-absence, you may temporarily lose access to the system.
How do I update my user profile?
Upon login, select your profile icon on the top right and click Edit Profile. From here you can update your profile, including uploading or replacing your photo, writing a personal bio, updating your interests, and more. Note that some information is Read-Only and is provided by UVM's internal student database. If you want or need to change any Read-Only information on your profile, please submit a Support Ticket and we can help guide you through that process.
How do I modify my notification settings?
Upon login, select your profile icon on the top right and select Notification Settings. From here, you can modify notifications setting by platform (Email, Web, Mobile, etc.), as well as customize what notifications you receive based on your group membership or officer position.
How do I join an organization?
Select Groups from the top toolbar and click + All Groups from the menu. From here, you can browse all the Recognized Clubs & Organiations (RSOs) that you are eligible to join. From the Group Page of your desired RSO, click Join Group. Depending on the RSO, users will either be admitted as a member or a club officer will be notified to validate your membership.
Why is my name is not appearing in the User Selector field when I am filling out a form or event registration?
If your profile is not poppulating within a User Selector field, it is likely due to your Privacy Settings. Users who have opted to be hidden from the Directory will not auto-poppulate. You will need to temporarily adjust this setting in order to complete the form or event registration. To do this, select your user icon in the top right hand corner, then select Privacy Settings. Scroll down and uncheck the Profile Visibility box to unhide yourself from the Directory. Once you have completed your form or event registration, you can return to the settings and adjust them back to however you prefer.
Managing Groups
As a Clubsigner, how do I manage my Group?
You are able to customize many platform features for your group. For detailed guides on how to manage your group, visit the CampusGroups Help Center! These include information about:
- Best Practices for Officers
- Group Settings and Pages
- Managing Officers and Members
- Sending Emails and Notifications
- Managing Events
- Creating a Group Website
What is a Contact?
Contacts are users who have engaged with your group (for example, by attending an event), but are not members. They have limited access privileges compared to validated Members. Contacts can access the group page but only view the About, Events, Officers, and Surveys & Forms sections. They also do not receive member-targeted emails unless specifically selected, and may be restricted from event registration or specific tickets if designated for members only.
To change a Contact to a full Member, head to your Group Dashboard and on the lefthand menu, select Members, then Current Members. Find the user you would like to update and change the membership status from Contact to Member.
How do I change who our Clubsigner is?
Please email uvmsga@uvm.edu to request any changes to your Clubsigners.
Events
Do events in Rally Point poppulate on the UVM BORED or University Events calendar?
At this time, no. For events that you would like to advertise to campus and beyond, you must still submit them to the UVM BORED calendar.
I am an event organizer. How do I check-in attendees at my event?
There are several options for attendee check-in. You can choose to use one or more options when setting up your event:
- Check-In via Mobile App: Users are checked-in by event organizers using the mobile app
- Check-in via Computer: Users are checked-in by event organizers using a computer paired with an ID scanner* or manually searching by name
- Self Check-in via QR Code: Users check themselves in by accessing the event QR code or URL with their mobile device
- Self Check-In via Kiosk: Users check themselves in at an unmanned kiosk
- Manual Check-in: Event organizers check-in users via the event Attendees list
Note that the only users who can perform event check-in include:
- Officers of the group hosting or co-hosting the event (with Manage Events permission)
- Users who are added as a team member for an event (mobile check-in only)
- Platform admins
Visit the CampusGroups Help Center for more information about Event Check-In.
* If your RSO would like to borrow an ID Scanner for an event, please reach out to the Department of Student Life.
How do I find my Personal QR Code?
Open the Rally Point app. On the bottom menu, select More. In the top right corner, select the QR code icon to open to your Personal QR Code, and have this ready for event organizers to scan at check-in.
I am an event attendee. How do I check into an event that is using Self Check-In?
Some event organizers use Rally Point's Self Check-In feature, rather than checking in attendees individually. If this is the case at the event you are attending, you will be shown a QR code and be asked to scan it to check-in.
The easiest way to do so is from the Rally Point app. On the bottom menu, select More. In the top right corner, select the QR code icon, then tap Scan QR Code.
Alternatively, you can use the camera on your mobile device to scan the provided QR code. Doing so will open Rally Point in a web browser and require you to sign in before processing your check-in.
I registered or purchased tickets for an event. How do I find my Event QR Code?
If you have registered for an event in Rally Point and are asked to check-in using your Event QR Code, you can find it in one of the following places:
- Check your inbox for an email confirmation for the event. This message will contain a digital and printable version of your registration confirmation and QR code.
- Open the Rally Point app. On the bottom menu, select Events. On the top menu, now select My Events. Select the event you're checking into and tap View Ticket to open your Event QR Code.
