UVM Belonging Builders is a club that hopes to combat loneliness on campus by hosting weekly social events for students to meet people and make friends! These events will be designed to start conversations and hopefully enable people to make friendships that persist outside the club.
They will also be designed with people who more often struggle with finding friends in college than others in mind (such as introverts, neurodivergent people, or those from underrepresented ethnic or economic groups). All are welcome here!
We also hope that by doing this, we can help reduce stigma and start conversations about the topic! We want to show people that there's nothing shameful about being lonely and on the contrary, it's a serious problem that deserves our attention and compassion.

Since 2000, when it was founded at Stanford University, Camp Kesem has expanded to over 120 active chapters. Camp Kesem at University of Vermont was founded in 2016 and will hold it's eighth summer camp in August 2024. In addition to camp itself, undergraduate students get to be involved in a welcoming community through Kesem and gain valuable skills and experiences as they attend leadership retreats, organize events, fundraise, plan a fun-filled week of camp, and make lifelong friendships. Chicks on Sticks
Our Story
Back in 2016 some rad ladies were at a ski and snowboard film festival and noticed that there we no female-identifying and non-binary people in any of the videos on the big screen. Determined to make a difference, they set out to make their own edit. When talking to other women and non-binary people they realized that they were all tired of the lack of representation. The idea to create an edit then grew into a club of incredible female-identifying and non-binary skiers and riders at the University of Vermont.
Within a few years, Chicks on Sticks went from a small group of people meeting in the comfy chairs on the first floor of the Davis Center to a Student Government Association recognized club with over 2,000 members. Our focus shifted from creating an edit to promoting access and equity in the outdoors. From coordinating rides to mountains, backcountry skiing and raising money for nonprofits or running mentorship programs, Chicks on Sticks VT continues to bring people together to do what they love most - spending time outside, sliding on snow.
Our Mission
Chicks on Sticks is a group of female-identifying and non-binary skiers and riders advocating for accessibility and inclusivity in the outdoors, specifically snow sports. We fulfill our mission through on and off campus outdoor programming, community partnerships and fundraising.
Core Values
Adventure
- We provide outdoor opportunities for people of all ages and levels of expertise no matter your background or comfort levels with winter sports.
Community
- We aim to foster a strong and welcoming community at UVM and beyond.
Leadership
- We empower female-identifying and non-binary leaders in an effort to challenge the male-dominated outdoor industry and increase gender representation.
Gender Equity
- We have an intersectional commitment to gender equity and gender rights on and off the mountain.
Sustainability and Environmental Justice
- We are committed to protecting and respecting the environment that we adventure in. Here in Burlington Vermont we acknowledge that we are on the land of the Abenaki people of the Wabanaki Confederacy.
Language
- We strive to use language inclusive to non-female identifying students etc.
Chicks is a community dedicated to uplifting and increasing the participation of women, female‑identifying, and non‑binary students participating in Skiing and Snowboarding. While our programming centers the experiences of these groups, we welcome all allies and individuals who wish to learn, explore, and support our mission.
Citizen's Climate Lobby

Doctors Without Borders
UVM Friends of Doctors Without Borders
Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters, and exclusion from healthcare. MSF offers assistance to people based on need, irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation. Today, MSF is a worldwide movement of 24 associations, bound together as MSF International, based in Switzerland. We conduct our own evaluations on the ground to determine people’s needs. More than 90 percent of our overall funding comes from millions of private sources, not governments. MSF is neutral. We do not take sides in armed conflicts. We provide care on the basis of need. MSF medical teams often witness violence and neglect in the course of their work, largely in regions that receive scant international attention. At times, MSF may speak out publicly in an effort to bring a forgotten crisis to public attention, to alert the public to abuses occurring beyond the headlines, to criticize the inadequacies of the aid system, or to challenge the diversion of humanitarian aid for political interests. MSF rejects the idea that poor people deserve third-rate medical care. We strive to provide high-quality care to patients. In 1999, when MSF was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, the organization announced that the proceeds from the prize would go toward setting up a Neglected Diseases Fund. The goal was to raise awareness of diseases such as Chagas, sleeping sickness, and malaria and set up pilot projects for the clinical development, production, procurement, and distribution of treatments. This work has also helped lower the cost of HIV/AIDS treatment.
Dressage Team
The University of Vermont Dressage Team has a lot to offer to riders of all disciplines and experience levels. Our current team consists of individuals from a range of different backgrounds, but the study of classical dressage provides the perfect common ground.
The UVM Dressage Team consists of 15-20 members. In the fall and spring semesters try-outs are held to fill any open spots. We invite all athletes to try out. The selection process is competitive, but not impossible as we have various experience levels to fill. If you are interested in the team, have any questions, are interested in attending tryouts, or would like to be added to our interest list, please email us at dressage@uvm.edu.
The UVM Dressage Team is based out of the UVM Horse Barn Co-op, conveniently located about five minutes from campus. To learn more about the UVM Horse Barn Co-op, follow this link: https://www.uvm.edu/cals/asci/uvm-horse-barn-co-op.
Membership on the UVM Dressage Team offers approximately 8, 45 minute lessons per semester, plus multiple “free rides” (practice rides, on your own) throughout the year. Additionally, the team hosts clinic lessons each semester with guest clinicians. In the past, we’ve hosted Olympic and Grand Prix level trainers as well as qualified judges to help with our competition preparation.
We believe in a hands-on approach to horse care and providing our members with a comprehensive learning experience in all aspects of the equestrian sport. Our team is led by the wonderful Carolyn Tulumello! Carolyn is a USDF Bronze and Silver medalist who has over 20 years of experience working with all levels of horse and rider. Early on in her career, Carolyn spent two years in Europe training with both Dressage and jumping professionals. Over the years Carolyn has brought many horses through the levels of dressage; training with notable trainers such as, Carol Lavell, Pam Goodrich, Madeleine Austin, Kathy Crosby, and Heather Blitz. Carolyn has successfully coached riders and ridden horses to many regional championships. Carolyn’s approach to training is dynamic and takes into account both horse and rider biomechanics which impact growth and development at every level.
To put our skills to practice, the UVM Dressage Team takes part in intercollegiate dressage competitions, sponsored by the IDA. The team takes several members to each show, where we compete at Introductory, Lower Training (T1), Upper Training (T3), and First Level. We compete against other schools in regions A and B. Riders are mounted on a horse, drawn at random from within their level, given 10 minutes to warm up, and then expected to perform their test. This is an excellent opportunity to improve your ability to ‘catch ride’ and learn how to ride and perform on any horse. Each semester there are approximately four to six horse shows sponsored by university teams within our region, as well as IDA Nationals, held in mid-April. We currently compete in the A/B region of the IDA which includes UNH, JWU, UMass, UConn, MHC, and UVM. To learn more about the IDA, please visit http://www.teamdressage.com.

Engineers Without Borders
Engineers Without Borders (EWB) UVM is one of the many student chapters of EWB-USA. We feel that everyone has the right to the fundamental necessities of life especially access to electricity, clean water, and clean air. Our goal is to use our knowledge and creativity to work with developing communities to get over the barriers preventing them from obtaining these basic needs. EWB-UVM is a space for students to apply their knowledge and creativity to real-world problems through projects in Vermont, the U.S., and in developing countries worldwide.
EWB-UVM also provides a variety of opportunities for students to develop professionally. We network with external partners in the community, attend professional conferences, organize fund raising events, and are active in managing the day-to-day operations and administration of the chapter.
Membership has been growing over the last two years because of the enthusiasm within CEMS about the kinds of meaningful, real-world projects EWB is undertaking. Students are actively engaged in growing the club and broadening its impact both within UVM and in the community. We always love to have new members, and we accept all majors! If you would like more information or want to get involved, please feel free to email our President (aannunzi@uvm.edu) or our Outreach Liaison (garrett.webster@uvm.edu)!

Our members have the opportunity to receive advice from successful entrepreneurs and resources to foster and develop ideas. Our more engaged members have the opportunity to join our leadership team and make a lasting impact at UVM by helping support other student entrepreneurs.

FeelGood
We are a group of students who believe that extreme poverty and hunger can and will be ended in our lifetime. In order to make that goal a reality, we exchange gourmet grilled cheese for a donation to our partner organization, the Hunger Project. We are located outside of the Davis Center tunnel across from the Career Hub on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 11am-3pm. Check out our weekly emails to sign up to volunteer at deli and late night events! We also cater at various events around campus.
By partnering with local businesses (Klinger's Bread, Red Hen Bakery, Cabot, and many more), we are able to invest 100% of the money we collect in the sustainable end of extreme poverty in our lifetime.
Fellowship of Christian Athletes
The FCA Huddle at the University of Vermont is a weekly gathering open to all students. While FCA stands for Fellowship of Christian Athletes, you don’t have to be on a team to join us — we welcome athletes and non-athletes alike from every sport, background, and level of faith.
Our mission is simple but life-changing: to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church. At UVM, that mission comes to life in our Huddle. We meet to open God’s Word together, encourage one another, and talk honestly about faith, life, and purpose.
Our vision is to see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes — and we believe that starts right here on campus. Whether you’ve followed Jesus for years, are just beginning to ask questions, or aren’t sure what you believe, this is a space where you can belong before you believe.
Come as you are, meet new friends, and be part of a community that cares about who you are today and who you are becoming in Christ.

Field Hockey Club
UVM Club Field Hockey is a student-led competitive team that is a full member of the National Field Hockey League (NFHL) - a national, co-ed club league. Our primary season is from September to November where we play other club teams throughout the East Coast.
Tryouts take place once a year in the fall around the first or second weekend of September. Attendance is mandatory for both days of tryouts where athletes will be assessed on skills and sportsmanship (we highly value player attitude! Our team extends beyond just playing- we get together regularly outside of practice). We are a co-ed team so we welcome all genders and all skill levels to come try out. Contact us before tryouts if you need to borrow gear!
We practice 3x a week in the fall for about 2 hours in the evenings accompanied by travel on the weekends which can sometimes involve overnights (usually at teammates' houses). Our travel and uniforms are covered by club fundraising and there are few out-of-pocket expenses. During the spring season, we practice 2x a week outside (weather permitting) and move indoors when necessary - we will set up occasional scrimmages in the spring but travel is not as regular as the fall season.
In the past several years, our team has been invited to travel to Virginia Beach to participate in the National championship where we are able to play top teams from all over the country, including Northeastern, UNC Chapel Hill, VA Tech, etc.
Overall, the club field hockey team has become an organization that revolves around athleticism, friendship, community involvement, and, of course, having a TON of fun.
If you are interested in joining the club, please email Elise or Kaelin at elise.hellmann@uvm.edu or kaelin.rising@uvm.edu to get more information about the team, and try-outs, game schedules, and any other questions you have!
We appreciate your interest in our team! Please don't hesitate to contact us, we'd love to hear from you!

Futsal Club
Here at club futsal, inclusivity is the name of our game. Well, futsal is the name of our game. BUT providing athletes of all backgrounds and ability levels a safe place to enjoy our quirky indoor soccer is what we strive to do. Founded in the spring of 2022 by Ben Jackson, club futsal started off as 12 people (who largely had never met) playing 3v3 in the dance studio above the basketball court. Now, we have over 140 listed members (and many more names on our ever-growing email list), and practice 3 times a week in UVM newest athletic facilities. Yet, despite how much we have changed, we are intrinsically the same club; the club that values providing everyone a safe, fun, joy-filled place to play soccer. It is our members - our friends and peers - who create the wonderful atmosphere we have all come to cherish. We would love to have you.
Best,
Club Futsal Officer Team

Outdoor Recreation and Tourism Society
The Outdoor Recreation and Tourism Society (ORTS) is a student-run organization aimed at providing UVM students an avenue to explore and connect with the individuals, organizations, and systems responsible for managing and operating the spaces within which they recreate and spend their leisure time. On top of this, ORTS seeks to develop a deeper understanding within the UVM community about research, internship, and career opportunities in the outdoor recreation and tourism fields. We host professionals from these fields to hear about what they do, how they got there, and any recommendations they have for those looking to get into the field. Members will also have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the outdoor recreation and tourism industries as we will host volunteer days with community partners like: Green Mountain Club; Hello Burlington; Burlington Department of Parks, Recreation and Waterfront; and more. ORTS members are offered student memberships to the Society of Outdoor Recreation Professionals (SORP). SORP is a national organization with the mission to provide leadership for the outdoor recreation profession through skill development, networking, and technical guidance. If you are thinking about a job in outdoor recreation or tourism, simply want to learn more about these fields, or want to get out and volunteer with community partners, ORTS may be the club for you! Feel free to reach out with any questions or to find out more about what we do at uvmorts@gmail.com.

We hope to create a community of adventurers who are excited to challenge themselves in the outdoors, gain new experiences, and HAVE FUN!
Our trips include but are not limited to skiing, hiking, kayaking, rock climbing, biking, etc. If you have a particular interest please feel free to give us any suggestions!
We look forward to meeting you!
Pharmacology Club
The purpose of the UVM Pharmacology Club is to provide a way for undergraduate students with and without a pharmacology minor to learn more about what pharmacology is all about and how UVM contributes to the advancement of pharmacological and medical knowledge. We will provide many opportunities for students to further their academic career and academic understanding through hosting various events such as seminars with guest speakers (professors, principal investigators, graduate students, etc., mainly from the pharmacology department), clinical shadowing experiences, collaborations with other recognized academic UVM clubs, and other fun educational social events. These opportunities will help UVM faculty/research labs gain exposure and recruit enthusiastic members, which encourages student-teacher relationships, creates a sense of community, and enhances the university's academic reputation.
Philharmonic
The UVM Philharmonic is a string chamber ensemble that rehearses once a week in preparation for fall and spring performances. We are one of the only music ensembles on campus that is entirely organized by students. While some of our musicians are also members of the UVM Symphony Orchestra, we do not require auditions and welcome musicians of all ability levels to join our ensemble. Our primary goal is to create a fun, inclusive, and collaborative environment that provides students with the opportunity to learn challenging and equally rewarding repertoire from a wide range of genres. We also recruit students from the music education department to lead our ensemble, which provides an incredible opportunity for students to gain experience with score studying and conducting.
Philosophy Society
The philosophy society is a group of students interested in going over academic philosophical writings, and introducing topics that are not the focus of the UVM philosophy department. Meetings are generally run by a different member every time, and topics/readings are entirely dependent on group interest. Before each meeting there is assigned content that will be sent out to be discussed during the upcoming week's meeting. Occasionally, there are guest lecturers who present their research.
We hope to create an inclusive and supportive community where challenging ideas and bringing up questions is encouraged and where students have a chance to engage with others interested in philosophy (and to potentially meet some of the philosophy faculty!)
Pickleball Club

We will provide regular social events for students to improve their skills from beginner to advanced, build a community, and create connections amongst members. We cater to all skill levels and hope to foster healthy lifestyle choices through physical activity and social interaction. We hope to see you on the pickleball courts to either learn about the game or play it for the first time. If you aren't able to come to our events, the rec center holds daily pickleball times. Hope to see everyone on the courts!
Poetry Club
UPC was made by (and for) students wanting to create a diversified, inspirational space to share their passions for poetry and creative writing with one another, as well as the UVM campus as a whole. UPC hosts poetry workshops for individuals looking to collaborate with others to improve their writing and get the inspiration flowing!
Another big event of UPC is our open mic nights, where students can perform live readings in front of an audience not only to share their work, but also to expand their public speaking skills. If you're unsure if a live audience is your cup of tea, UPC also provides resources for publishing student work across campus in the form of zines - mini-DIY magazines made by hand.
A future goal of the club is to collaborate with other UVM writing organizations to establish a reoccurring, officially published paper/magazine featuring student poetry distributed across campus!

Pokemon Go Club
Pokémon Go is a popular mobile game created in 2016. In the game, players catch creatures called Pokémon in an AR version of the real world. The game encourages players to play together through a friendship-based reward system. Being “friends” with another player yields in-game benefits, such as increased damage and more catching opportunities in multiplayer raid battles. These raid battles require multiple players to work together to defeat one strong/ rare Pokémon. Once beaten, players catch this Pokémon and add it to their collection.
The goal of this club is to make it easier for players to make in-game and real-world friends to take down raid Pokémon. Players can also use this as a space to trade their Pokémon or partake in the game’s other social aspects.
We meet at the Davis Center atrium every Wednesday from 6-7pm!

Quadball
Our Goals:
- To provide an opportunity for students to join a sport that fosters creativity and team camaraderie.
- To represent the University of Vermont in competition against other collegiate institutions by traveling to their campuses.
- To always be improving and to win some tournaments!
Our Common Ground:
- Respect: We respect all types and levels of ability. We honor that every team member can contribute to our team on and off the pitch.Integrity: We follow the US Quadball Rulebook and are dedicated to sportsmanship and fair play.
- Innovation: Quadball is still a very young fantasy sport, leaving lots of room for creative strategy!
- Openness: We encourage members to share thoughts, ideas, and concerns about how the team is run. We strive to be more of a family than a team.
- Inclusivity: The team, as well as individual members, are held accountable for promoting an organization that any person feels welcome in. We take pride in maintaining an inclusive and quirky club that brings variety to UVM athletics, while still retaining a strong spirit of competition!
Queer Student Union
Queer Student Union is UVM's LGBTQIA+ group on campus. We are student-run and sponsor a wide range of events and activities throughout the year ranging from community-based social events to discussions on gender, sexuality and intersecting identities. We also put on educational workshops, fundraisers, dances and more!
We are a group of students who share a common interest in cultivating, educating, and enriching the LGBTQIA+ experience at the University of Vermont. We are advocates of queer and trans perspectives and we work to ensure that the voices of queer and trans+ students at UVM are recognized and respected. Through our active presence and involvement on campus, QSU hopes to confront homophobia, biphobia, transphobia and other systems of oppression while seeking to understand and address how their intersections with sexism, racism, ableism, classism, and other forms of discrimination perpetuate even more complex forms of oppression.
The Queer Student Union aims to serve a wide variety functions:
Social: We organize to create common bonds through conversations, social events, and explorations of queer cultures.
Education: We serve as a source of information and provide a safe medium for academic discourse, personal reflection, and artistic representation of queerness and our intersecting identities.
Organizing/Activism: We work to transform our greater community while recognizing that our goals require a continued process of understanding and addressing all forms of oppression. Gender and sexuality are mobilized in different ways along with race, ethnicity, class, age, and ability in order to privilege some bodies, voices, and actions over others.
We work collaboratively to create brave and transformative spaces at the University of Vermont for our LGBTQIA+ community and to serve as a resource for all members of our community who wish to question thoughtfully the ways in which gender and sexuality affect and inform our lives and society.
If you have a vision, QSU can make it happen! QSU has tons of leadership opportunities.

RALLYTHON
RALLYTHON is a yearlong fundraising effort that culminates in a 12-hour Dance Marathon in the Davis Center every spring. We dance for 12-hours representing the length of a nurse’s shift in the hospital, celebrating all of the work the doctors and nurses do for the families at our local Children’s Miracle Network hospital, Golisano Children’s Hospital at University of Vermont Health. Every dollar RALLYTHON raises benefits Golisano Children’s Hospital, and those funds are used in a variety of ways such as buying new equipment necessary for life-changing care, helping fund the Child Life team that help pediatric patients feel safer and more comfortable during their stay, and helping patient families with food and travel expenses if they travel far to obtain care here in Vermont. RALLYTHON began in 2015 and engaged 388 students on campus who raised $31,905.81. Since then, we have raised a total of over a million dollars for Golisano Children's Hospital and have danced the night away with thousands of our fellow students and community members! This upcoming year the RALLYTHON team is working to continuously increase that number and engage even more students across campus to have a greater impact on the lives of the families being treated at Golisano Children’s Hospital. RALLYTHON 2027 will take place on March 27th, 2027 from 12 P.M. to 12 A.M. on the 4th floor of the Davis Center. The families being treated at the hospital come and celebrate with us and enjoy the free food, entertainment and activities that happen during the 12 hours, and we hope that you will too!

Springboard Diving Club
Hello Divers!
First, I want to say welcome to the UVM Springboard Diving Club and thank you for coming! The UVM Springboard Diving Club is extremely inclusive and any student is allowed to join. Our mission is to expand the sport of springboard diving to all who would like to try. No matter the level, anyone is welcome to participate.
The UVM Springboard Diving Club will be led by a team of experienced divers/lifeguards. Although as coaches we strive to create accomplished divers, our main initiative is to ensure safety. Remember that the coach always has your safety in mind when directing a diver. As a result, divers will only be allowed to do certain dives or use certain boards at the discretion of the coach.
Club practices will be held roughly two days a week.
For Spring 2026, practices are on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00-10:00 pm !!!
Practice updates will be posted on our instagram! @uvmspringboarddive
In order to be eligible to dive, all club members are required to register on the UVM Lynx (that's here!). Divers are also required to submit the 2025-26 Agreement to Participate in order to participate. Divers who want credit can also register through the UVM Club Sports organization on this website. Divers who do not register or attend at least ten practices will not receive credit. We do recognize that these times can be inconvenient, so we will try our best to be as flexible as possible.
When participating in the UVM Springboard Diving Club we do require team members to adhere by certain rules and policies listed below.
- Divers, lifeguards, coaches, etc. will be made aware of all rules and regulations prior to the first practice
- Divers must register on the Lynx and sign in at the pool in order to dive
- Divers cannot use either springboard until the coach has arrived and has instructed to do so
- Divers must follow the coach’s instructions when manipulating the board
- Divers must follow the coach’s instructions regarding which dives are and are not permitted
- Divers must acquire a functioning approach or launch and in order to be permitted to attempt dives with potential risks
- Divers must obtain permission in order to use any springboard
- Divers must obey pool policy rules when diving on his or her own time
- Divers must cooperate with the coaches and the lifeguards on duty
- Divers must only be on the spring board one at a time
- Divers must make sure there are no flags, lane lines, or patrons in front of the board while diving
The UVM Springboard Diving Club serves as an alternative way to participate in springboard diving at the University of Vermont. It is a safe and fun way to explore the sport and to enjoy an extracurricular activity. It can be as relaxed or as rigorous as the club member wishes. If you have any further questions or if you need to communicate with us please reference the contact information below.
President: Thea Lowenberg, tlowenbe@uvm.edu
Co-President: Lila Sargent, lesargen@uvm.edu
In addition to our own rules as a club, the world of diving consists of its own set of rules and regulations. Although you are by no means required to know all of this information, it is good to take a glance. Below I have provided a synopsis of the rules, regulations, and general information about diving.
What is diving?
- Diving is the sport of jumping or falling into the water from a platform or springboard, usually using acrobatics.
What types of boards do you use?
- Springboards are either at a height of one meter or three meter. While the UVM Springboard Diving Club will use both, elite competitions, like the Olympics only use three meter.
What is synchronized diving?
- Synchronized diving is the act of two divers performing simultaneously on either two parallel springboards or on the same platform. This can be seen in the Olympics and in other competitions where the pool permits it.
What is a fulcrum?
- A springboard is a flexible surface that can be manipulated through the movement of the fulcrum. The fulcrum is the device underneath the springboard that can be moved closer or further from the end of the board to produce a bouncier surface. There are nine different levels marked on the board that indicate the levels of flexibility. Nine is the most flexible where as one is the least.

Students Demand Action @ UVM
When lawmakers offered thoughts and prayers but little meaningful action after the 2018 mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, high school and college students across the country came together to make our voices heard. Students Demand Action started in 2016 as a pilot program and, with a sense of urgency, we launched it as a national initiative within two weeks of the Parkland shooting. Because what could be more urgent than fixing the errors in our system that have cost so many young people their lives? Students Demand Action now has more than 500 groups (Nov. 2022) across the country and active volunteers in every state and D.C.

We competed in the ASAU Club Nationals in 2009 with both men and women's team.
Since then, the team has grown to a team of over 50 swimmers who work out and compete in an atmosphere that encourages individual development and maintenance of swimming skills.
Thanks so much to all the swimmers that make this club possible! Last year was a good year of strong swimming and fun road trips. Below is a mix of clips from our home meets it the past, enjoy!

The Gist
The Gist, formerly known as Vantage Point, is the University of Vermont's literary and visual arts journal. Every semester, we encourage students from all disciplines, fields, and areas of interest to submit their poetry, prose, creative nonfiction, and visual art. We strive to publish writing that evokes and art that thinks, work which stimulates and supports a creative community on campus.
We’ve operated for over twenty years, and are proud to report that many of our contributors' works have placed in plain china, the national anthology for the best undergraduate student art and writing.
Students on staff gain professional publishing experience, particularly in the areas of criticism, editorial skills, layout/design, networking, marketing, leadership, and printing. We publish in the fall and spring of each year and are active in the greater arts community, from hosting poetry readings and art shows downtown to collaborating on expos or performing on local radio.
We meet every Tuesday at 8pm in Lafayette 212 for anonymous review sessions of submitted works. All are invited! We welcome folks from all identities, backgrounds, and disciplinary interests.
Submissions Guidelines: We only review and publish submissions from undergraduate students at the University of Vermont. We consider up to four submissions of poetry, rose, or art per contributor. There is a 2,000 word limit for prose and a 150 line limit for poetry. Please detail the composition or medium of art submissions. All works must be titled. Submit here.
If you're interested in submitting work, joining the review board, or just want to talk, contact us at submissions.gist@gmail.com.

The Mansfield Forum
The mission of The Mansfield Forum is to provide a space on campus for students to publish literature and visual art concerning the pressing issues of our time--politically, socially, and beyond--in an intellectual manner. We publish writing and art once a semester, as well as throughout the semester via social media, creating an open forum for undergraduates to discuss heavy, complicated topics. We value academic discourse and seek to foster an environment where different perspectives and ideas are shared to make for a more connected, innovative, and understanding campus. Students can not only publish their writing and art, but become a part of the publishing process, as well.
The Pad Project
Pad Project is a chapter of a national organization that is dedicated to expanding “access to menstrual care products, combats period stigma, and champions menstrual equity for all.” Many people with periods around the globe do not have access to disposable menstrual products and without these, they resort to using newspapers, dirty rags, and even leaves to manage their periods. To help prevent this, the Pad Project runs a reusable pad program in which UVM participates. We focus on sewing these washable pads that are then distributed in Africa, specifically to communities in need. As well, we are working to start education programs and advocacy for period equity on UVM’s campus and in Burlington. The club is a great way to learn how to sew, to help those in need, and have fun while doing so!
The Vine Campus Ministry
The Vine Campus Ministry exists to help bridge the transition from the familiarity of home life to the new world of campus life. Jesus Christ said "I am the vine, you are the branches, he who remains in me and I in him will produce much fruit", we want to be a place where students can explore the person of Jesus Christ through a welcoming community and discover that His claims are not hollow and empty but that He really is all He says He is. We encourage students toward a full life on campus and off, "bearing much fruit" in every aspect of their lives, by following Jesus. From a pursuit of academic excellence, to making good relationship choices, to making plans for the future both in and out of college, God has a plan for us all. By providing a community on campus where students can feel safe to ask big questions and explore the Bible and the person and character of God, we help students discover that plan. We are a group that is open to everyone. It doesn't matter if you know Jesus already or you have never thought about Jesus much less heard of Him, you are welcome.

Top Cats A Cappella
The UVM Top Cats are UVM's all male and non-binary A-Capella ensemble. With hijinks and shenanigans dating back to 1981, the Top Cats is of UVM's most widely recognized clubs. Their presence has become one of the staples of the UVM experience. The group is highly exclusive and small in numbers (9-14 members a semester), and they perform regularly in the UVM and greater Burlington communities, as well as up and down the entirety of the east coast. At the most basic level, a Top Cat is a talented singer or vocal percussionist with an extensive knowledge regarding musical theory; but they must also be smart, fun, and able to be an engaging stage presence when they perform.
Top Cats hold a variety of on-campus concerts throughout the semester, but they also perform at various business functions, festivals, fairs, and the occasional birthday party or bar mitzvah. If you're interested in becoming a Top Cat, or just want to know how to get involved with our club, email us at jack.malin@uvm.edu, or check out our Instagram @uvmtopcats!

As a group, we raise and train service and facility dogs for Assistance Canine Training Services (A.C.T.S.). Through UPRAWR, students can become puppy raisers, puppy sitters, and general members. Everyone is a vital part of the team; but, the core members of our club are students who are paired with a dog to raise and train for six months to two years. Our club provides UVM students with the opportunity to build skills and knowledge pertaining to the training and care of service dogs. Our mission is to foster a greater awareness and respect for service dogs in the UVM community and surrounding area. We understand that not everyone can commit 24/7 to a dog, and we accept all commitment levels. If you're at all interested, we would love to hear from you!
UVM Bikes!
Visit https://uvmbikes.w3.uvm.edu/ for more information!
UVM Bikes! is a student run bicycle co-operative at the University of Vermont. We are dedicated to increasing the accessibility of bicycles to the UVM community, and teaching folks the skills they need to confidently maintain and repair their bikes.
The UVM Bikes! shop is located at 86 S Williams St. The shop space is free to use for anyone affiliated with the University of Vermont (students, faculty, & staff). We have all the tools and small parts you’ll need for any common bike repairs.
We stock an abundance of common parts — inner-tubes, brake pads, chains, cables, cable housing, and chain lube — and carry a limited supply of additional parts and accessories, such as tires and locks. We also have a large selection of well-loved used parts laying around. All new parts and accessories are available for purchase at affordable prices.
We also offer affordable rental bikes to UVM students for a rate of 30$ per semester. Bikes are rented on a first-come first-serve basis at the beginning of Fall semester. Rental bikes are repurposed, recycled, and revived bikes that have been given new life by our team of dedicated volunteers.
UVM Birding Club
The UVM Birding Club is a student-led organization that meets weekly to go birdwatching. The purpose of the club is to create a space where students can develop and share birding skills with like-minded peers. As a group, we get outdoors and teach each other bird identification, call/song identification, and observation techniques. Typically we meet in Centennial Woods, but a few times each semester we go off-campus for field trips. For those interested, there will be opportunities to connect with other members of the conservation community in Vermont. Students from any major can join, and we welcome all levels of experience. People are more likely to conserve nature if they know and love it, and birding is an opportunity to foster that connection.
UVM Book Club
UVM Book Club is a collection of book groups from all over campus. We provide resources to students who want to find a group to read with, or those who want to lead a group of their own. Book groups may meet once a week, once a semester, or any frequency in between, so there are groups to meet whatever you're looking for in a book club.

Our purpose is to provide training and instruction for students to learn or improve rock climbing skills and techniques. Our competitive team meets 3 times a week off-campus at MetroRock, and attends USAC competitions throughout the Fall and Spring semesters. We have an additional recreational team for all students, regardless of skill level, which meets separately from the comp team! Anyone and everyone is welcome!!
Team info:
The cost of a membership to Metrorock in Essex (where we practice) is $275 for the entire semester which is a great discount for the team. Water Polo
We are a water polo team that competes in the North Atlantic Conference of the Collegiate Water Polo Association and attend tournaments throughout New England. There are three tournaments in the fall with the final tournament being league championships. We won our first conference championship ever in Fall 2022, and we have tallied additional conference wins the past three years (Fall 2023, Fall 2024, and Fall 2025)! We also fielded a women's team for the first time this Spring 2025 season and finished second in our conference! On top of that, we also received the Most Successful Club Sport award from UVM's Student Government this year (2024-2025).
As a co-ed team, we encourage all those who have ever been interested in water polo to come to a practice night and try it out! No skill or experience is required, just the ability to swim. We also committed to developing experience players who hope to compete at a high level! We hope to see you at the pool!
Follow & DM us on Instagram @uvm_water_polo for more information on the team and our first practices!

We travel for games and tournaments on the weekends and sometimes have scrimmages during the week closer to campus. We compete every year in the Regional tournament at Boston University, which is our biggest tournament of the year. We play hard and we play to win, but don't worry we play to have fun too!
If you are looking to join come by our table at activites fest on September 2nd! We'll have updated details about open gyms and tryouts. The same information will also be on our instagram: @uvmcwbb so give it a follow to stay up to date!
Women's Club Flag Football
The purpose of this club is to advance a sport that's on the come up in our country: Women's Flag Football. It is a student-ran club where girls and non-binary people can come together, compete, and have fun in a typically male-dominated sport. We will teach our members the rules of the game and the expectations that come along with being part of a team. We will strive to make this club a place for anyone wanting to play the sport, whether they grew up playing football--tackle, flag, in their backyard--or those who simply want to try it out.
One of the major goals of our club is to become better athletes, but to have fun while doing so. We aim to create a group that becomes a family. We will form a safe, welcoming, athletically demanding environment, where we can have fun and learn how to play the sport of Flag Football. We aim to set good examples for each other and provide a safe space for when we need to free ourselves from stressors or a teammate to talk to. We want to expand this organization and play against teams from other schools across New England or other regions close by.
Women's Club Ice Hockey
Women's club hockey competes in ACHA D2 and the IWCHL Presidential Division. We play other teams such as BC, BU, Saint Anselm, UNH, Merrimack, Northeastern, and more.
As a team, we try to improve and excel each year we play, both on and off the ice. We strive to maintain a competitive schedule against highly ranked teams to better ourselves as a whole. We like to work hard, but also have fun and bond as a team. We look forward to the upcoming season to continue to do better and become better as a team.
The team practices 2 times a week, participates in off-ice conditioning, and plays around 20 games from mid-September until the National tournament in March. In the past, we have traveled to many places such as Buffalo, Chicago, Rhode Island, Ohio, and Virginia. This year, our travel will be more regional, and we also plan on participating in a local tournament.
Women's Club Lacrosse
UVM Women’s Club Lacrosse is a team for skilled lacrosse players looking to continue playing at the competitive level. Founded in 2000, the club is well-organized and highly competitive. We are part of the NEWLL league of the WCLO. We play year-round, 3-4 times a week, and our primary season is in the spring. In our 2022 season, we qualified for WCLA Nationals in Austin, Texas where we made it to the championship game and placed 2nd overall, the best finish for our team and any team in NEWLL ever at Nationals. During our 2023 season, we qualified for WCLA nationals in Virginia Beach and placed 3rd overall. In 2024 we brought home the program's first-ever national championship trophy after competing in Wichita Kansas! In 2025 we moved to the WCLO and won the national championship during our first season in the league.
We are looking for players who are dedicated to the game and can bring a competitive attitude to practice. We hold tryouts in both the fall and spring semesters. While we take the game seriously, we make sure to have fun both on and off the field. Women’s Club Lacrosse is an organization that aims to remain inclusive to all and welcomes anyone who shows interest in joining our team.
Women's Rugby Football Club
The UVM Women's Rugby Football club is a student-run club sport. We compete in the New England Wide Collegiate Rugby Conference in Division II in the fall, and in the spring we play in and host various tournaments. Everyone is welcome to come and play, regardless of experience or skill level. We put out both an A (experienced) and B (inexperienced) side, and all players get playing time. As a team, we continue to work hard to contribute to the community through volunteer efforts in conjunction with the Women's Rape Crisis Center and organizations like Casting for Recovery.
This team was established to learn and play the game of rugby and to provide high level physical conditioning, while learning good sportsmanship as well as developing a good sense of camaraderie.
In the fall, we practice on the pitch located at the corner of Main St. and East Ave. next to the Double Tree Hotel.
In the spring, we practice on the turf fields in Patrick Gymnasium.
Women's Club Soccer
We aim to give women the opportunity to play competitive soccer at the collegiate level, while still placing academics as the top priority.
