Summary:
This 10 page report synthesizes findings from a survey conducted by Kris Stepenuck of Lake Champlain Sea Grant and Liz McQuain of Louisiana Sea Grant. The survey asked Sea Grant-supported participatory science programs about challenges and successes they have had in broadening participation. This report is meant to help other programs looking to expand participation in participatory science initiatives by sharing common barriers to participation and tips for overcoming them.
