Water Works Fair

Sunday August 9th – 10:00a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The Lake Champlain Community Sailing Center and lake partners will be hosting the Water Works Fair to celebrate and learn about Lake Champlain. This event will observe the ecology and experiences of Vermont’s greatest natural resource with hands-on educational activities and fun for all ages. Experiential education provides the critical link to our lake and develops future stewards for its health and future generations.

Community partners include the Lake Champlain Basin Program, Lake Champlain Sea Grant – UVM Watershed Alliance, Lake Champlain Committee, Winooski Valley Parks District, ECHO Leahy Center for Lake Champlain, Winooski Natural Resources Conservation District, Vermont Natural Resources Council, and Let’s Go Fishing.

The fair will be held in Waterfront Park adjacent to ECHO Leahy Center for Lake Champlain. There will opportunities for participants to catch plankton, ID fish, explore lakeside creatures using microscopes and much more. Community partners from across the state will be there to guide you in your adventures and explorations.
