Steps to Prepare
UVMClick – IRB Educational Sessions
- Register for an upcoming UVMClick – IRB educational session (opens in a new window).
- Sessions will be on campus in 217F Waterman and in MedEd Center 100 Larner Classroom.
CITI Program Training
- Investigators, if you have not completed Human Subjects Training or Good Clinical Practice Training in CITI (opens in a new window), it is best to complete that as soon as possible. By completing now, your training certifications will automatically be uploaded to UVMClick and place you in the correct queue for subsequent refresher training reminders.
Outstanding Submission Reponses
- Investigators and/or designees, please respond to outstanding IRB items as quickly as possible. By resolving outstanding items and obtaining an approved state the record will automatically transfer to UVMClick – IRB.
- Warning: If the protocol or individual submission on an approved protocol (i.e., amendments) are not in an approved state by end of business on November 14th, that protocol will not be transferred to UVMClick – IRB. Those protocols will need to be re-submitted to the IRB using the UVMClick – IRB system.
- IRB staff will be working diligently the week of November 5th to process all responses that we have received.
- As of this Special Announcement, there are 350 outstanding responses needed.
- To help minimize the number of re-submissions using UVMClick – IRB, RPO will do its best to track and be in touch with investigators who have outstanding items. We cannot guarantee every submission will be in an approved state; however, your timely response to outstanding clarification notices will help us process as many as possible.
New Submissions During the Transition
- Ability to submit protocol materials will be turned off, close of business, Friday, November 2nd. You will still be able to view your protocol records in InfoEd.
- Beginning mid-October, we recommend holding off on new or continuing protocol submissions until we are live with UVMClick – IRB. Why, because we think you will find it easier to work in UVMClick – IRB, and remember any submission that does not make it to an approved state will not transfer to UVMClick – IRB.
- Emergencies that involve the safety of human subjects will be managed outside of the system. In those instances, you must call our office for guidance.
- The full Committee meetings (CHRBSS and a rescheduled CHRMS for November 14th) are still scheduled, however we encourage you to consider holding these new full protocol submissions until the December meeting to avoid having to recreate the full submission a second time in UVMClick – IRB. Please contact our office if you had intended to submit for the November meeting so that we can advise.
