The executive leadership management team provides the vision, leadership and guidance to ensure the operations of the department are being performed, in working closely with the Executive Director of University Housing and Dining Services on major decision-making and priorities of the department to guide our strategy on behalf of our more than 6, 500 residential students in meeting the needs of the students that live in our 41 residence halls, in 11 complexes throughout the University community.

Purpose Statement
The senior unit head leadership team provides the leadership for each of their units to ensure all operations and services are performed for our more than 6, 500 residential students in putting students first and as a top priority. The leaders from our seven units are: Business Operations, Dining Operations, Housing Operations, Residential Education, Residential Facilities and Capital Development, Residential Learning and Academic Engagement, and Strategic Planning and Initiatives, supporting our University community in accordance with our mission and vision of the department, aligned to supporting the academic enterprise of the University community.

Leadership Council Group
Purpose Statement
The leadership council group is staff that consists of the Executive Director of University Housing and Dining Services direct reports and the senior unit head reports, a group of 25 staff who provides/performs the day-to-day activities of the department to ensure those activities are executed on behalf of the department in supporting our residential students. This group of staff meets monthly to strategically collaborate on and present topics/ collaborates with our campus partners to amplify UVM’s Common Ground values to create success for each of our students.

Purpose Statement
The business operations unit is responsible for maintaining all fiscal stewardship within University Housing and Dining Services with a strong focus in supporting the department’s mission that complements the academic enterprise of the University community. To support their work, this unit also leads all human resources, MOUs, staff union contracts, and partners with University’s Division of Human Resources on all matters regarding human resources and labor relations, staff technology support services, and housing business and human resources operations.

Purpose Statement
The Dining Operations unit is responsible for providing well-prepared, nutritious and a variety of food options throughout the University community for students, faculty, staff, and guests that are affordable and diverse at the University. In working with our Soxdeo, our food vendor, we collaborate to create a University-wide experience through creativity and visioning to offer innovative menu design, product offerings, a well-rounded customer experience and promoting a team atmosphere to do good work to support the mission of the University.

Purpose Statement
The housing operations unit is responsible for student housing assignments, occupancy, billing, technology and information and operational excellence front desk systems and protocols. To assist in a smooth transition to the University community, Housing Operations works diligently to deliver effective and efficient services and creates conditions that centered the UVM residential experience for our more than 6,500 residential students living in our 41 residential halls, in 11 complexes on-campus from the first day that our residential students arrive to campus on move-in day.

Purpose Statement
The residential education unit supports the residential experience at the University that centered on educating our residential students, engaging our community and enriching a supportive learning environment that promotes academic success, community development and personal growth. Purpose Statement
The residential facilities and capital development unit is responsible for the maintenance, capital development/project planning and building service operations of all University owned and operated campus housing. Within University Housing, residential facilities and capital development, track all work orders in Planon, a University-wide system that records and tracks the progress of each work order issued by our residential students and staff in our 41 residential halls on-campus.

Purpose Statement
The residential learning and academic engagement unit strives to create an unparalleled residential student experience through our learning communities that underscore the integration of learning and academics, leading to greater student success and connection to the University community. Embedded within our residence halls are our eight learning communities that provide tangible experiences that connect learning outside of the classroom into the residence halls, bringing our residential students together around specific focus topics of interest and helping make a large University community feel smaller and more intimate. This unit also advises the Residential Engagement Council and National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) student organizations.
