About Catherine Hamilton

Catherine has three decades of experience working in health care management in public and non-profit organizations.  She leads consumer services and strategic planning at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont a not-for profit plan.  She has also worked as a regulator of health plans in New York City and holds a Ph.D. from New York University in health management, policy and health services research.  Catherine is an advocate for health and wellness, a better consumer experience in health care and addressing root causes of health care outcomes.

Articles & Publications

In June of 2021, Catherine presented “A Case Study for Accountable Communities or Health” at the RISE Summit on Social Determinants of Health.  In July, she Presented at the World Congress in Health Care on consumer experiences in today’s health care marketplace.

Community Engagement

Catherine is chair of the THRIVE Community for Health in Central Vermont.  THRIVE’s mission is to optimize the health and wellbeing of our community through informed, collaborative and innovative solutions. 

Catherine is also the Chair of The Vermont Caring Foundation for Children, a not-for-profit,

Vermont based foundation dedicated to advancing and improving the health of all Vermonters, particularly children.
