Dear campus community,
Many of us are experiencing profound emotions and impacts from violence that has shocked people in the U.S and around the world. As a values-driven university, we are deeply committed to supporting our campus community and the individuals who comprise it. As a university and as people, we have much vital work to do.
On this day and on all days, our community is dedicated to seeing one another as human beings and to taking action in support of one another. We invite you to raise your voices as you see fit: to support freedom of speech and movement, democracy, and Our Common Ground values; to advance work in alignment with the ethics to which you are committed; and to build a better world. These, indeed, are fundamental elements of the strategic plan we will bring to our trustees in early February.
Please be aware that UVM Global and the Division of Intercultural Excellence will host listening sessions and other events to come together as a community. Please watch for that information on their website and social media. The Operations Teams and units across campus have also striven to enact Our Common Ground values through the work and resources below.
Finally, thank you for all you do to reach out to each other and take time to show concern and support. We hope, even in difficult periods, that you can find moments of coalition, community, and care.
