If you have reached this page it is likely because you have been identified based on your role at UVM as a UVM Reporter. That designation comes with important responsibilities. To make sure you understand your role, responsibilities and UVM's policy around reporting we ask that you watch the following short video.

  • In an emergency, call 9-1-1
  • If you are in crisis, text "VT" to 741741 and a trained counselor will respond
  • Make a report online at uvm.edu/report
  • Submit a CARE Form online.
  • Contact UVM Police at 802-656-3473.
  • Contact the Office of Equal Opportunity or Title IX Coordinator at 802-656-3368.
  • UVM Employee Assistance Program offers confidential counseling for UVM Employees. Available by phone at 802-864-3270 or toll-free at 1-866-660-9533
  • The UVM Center for Health and Wellbeing offers confidential medical and mental health care services for students, including counseling.
  • HopeWorks offers confidential victim support services, including office hours in Living and Learning 215. You can get support from HopeWorks 24/7 at 802-863-1236.

What is a UVM Reporter?

If you are a University employee with significant responsibility for student and campus activities, it is likely that you are a "UVM Reporter" under UVM policies. If you are a UVM Reporter, follow the steps described in the video to meet your reporting obligations in the event a student or colleague discloses sexual harassment or misconduct, or other forms of prohibited discrimination, harassment, or misconduct. Who is a UVM Reporter?

Mandatory reporters include, but are not limited to:

  • All supervisors, managers, or higher level employees;
  • All full and part-time Faculty, including Chairs, Deans and Directors
  • Coaches and coaching staff;
  • Advisors to Recognized Student Organizations;
  • Personnel with oversight of Student Employees;
  • Staff responsible for other types of educational programming sponsored by the University (e.g. camps and conferences, Extension outreach);
  • Members of UVM Police Services and contracted security personnel;
  • Any other individuals designated as a Campus Security Authority pursuant to the Clery Act by the University.
