Walk with Ease

University of Vermont is partnering with the Vermont Department of Health to offer the Arthritis Foundation’s Walk with Ease Enhanced Program.

Walk With Ease

Walking offers all the benefits of exercise—from improved fitness and energy to enhanced well-being. The Arthritis Foundation Walk with Ease Self-Directed Program is a walking program that can reduce pain and improve overall health. This fun, easy, and free 6-week program, which includes a walking guidebook and a weekly educational email, can help you:

  • Reduce the pain and discomfort of arthritis
  • Increase balance, strength, and walking pace
  • Build confidence
  • Improve overall health

Through UVM's Walk with Ease Enhanced Program, health care provider students are paired with participants in the fall and spring semesters and guide them via weekly calls. Open to anyone regardless of age and physical abilities who can be on their feet for 10 minutes without increased pain.

Build Your Confidence, Grow Your Strength

“When I started the program, I was afraid to walk very far because of my knee pain. But Walk with Ease helped me start slow and build up gradually. Now I am confident in my ability to walk easily without making my arthritis worse.”
