Over the past 15 years, the Technical Services Partnership has provided clinical engineering internships for nearly 50 engineering students from the Caribbean and Latin America. Much of their internship time is spent in medical equipment support activities at UVM Medical Center.

Interns Vadisha Peru and Matthew Tung from Trinidad & Tobago and Julian Pinzon from Colombia are working alongside our staff of technicians and engineers at UVMMC as essential workers to insure that new and existing healthcare technology is safe and functioning properly. Specific work has included supporting preventative maintenance of ventilators and infusion pumps, incoming inspections of new equipment required for COVID-19 patients, and routine maintenance while existing staff focus on COVID-19 emergent needs. They also help in COVID-19 surge preparation activities to setup of medical devices in additional areas in and outside the hospital.
