Burlington--Beginning in January, farmers will have an opportunity to meet one-on-one with a University of Vermont (UVM) Extension farm business educators for guidance on farm financial matters.

These individual consultations are designed to provide assistance to update financial records, create a farm budget or balance sheet, review a business plan or for answers to questions relating to marketing, strategic planning or other aspects of the business. Each session is scheduled for 90 minutes and costs $25.

Mark Cannella, Tony Kitsos and Betsy Miller are available to meet with farmers at various locations on specific dates from mid-January through the end of April. Consultations will be offered at UVM Extension offices in Bennington, Berlin, Brattleboro, Middlebury, Morrisville, Newport, Rutland, St. Albans, St. Johnsbury and South Burlington.

A list of dates for each of the 10 locations and a link to online registration can be found at www.regonline.com/clinicswinter2018. Slots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, so early registration is recommended.

Farmers should bring any pertinent farm financial records to their session. These could include recent bank account statements, their most recent IRS Schedule F tax form, loan documentation, notes on milk and crop production and yield or a copy of their business plan or draft plan for review.
