Dear UVM Faculty and Staff,
The University is pleased to offer optional on-campus testing for COVID-19 to UVM employees (faculty and staff) who will be working on site at a UVM facility during the fall 2020 semester. Testing will be done without charge to those using it and employees may choose to be tested weekly between August 24, 2020 and September 18, 2020. After this period, the University will again consult with public health and infectious disease professionals to assess the appropriate frequency of testing going forward.
Employees who develop symptoms of COVID-19 may receive a test regardless of the testing intervals developed for individuals who do not have any symptoms. If your healthcare provider has recommended one, please contact the COVID-19 Information Center to schedule a symptomatic test.
The University will be using the Broad Institute’s Clinical Research Sequencing Platform (CSRP) for testing. This is a PCR test, collected via non-invasive self-administered anterior nasal swabs. Additional information about the Broad Institute’s Clinical Research Sequencing Platform (CSRP) and the test is available here.
Employees who are interested in testing must complete an on-line Employee COVID-19 test registration form by Friday, August 21, 2020. The University will use registration information to order test supplies and arrange for adequate test site staffing.
Routine testing will be conducted in the Davis Student Center on the lower level in the Burack Game Room. The hours of testing will be Monday to Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Employees will schedule their own appointment using the CoVerified application which is also available in a web version. Information on the CoVerified app and how to download and install it will be available shortly.
Test results generally should be available within 24 hours. Negative test results will go directly to the employee and positive results will go to Student Health Services who will contact the employee with information and next steps, which will include completing UVM’s tracking form.
Thank you for your continued support in helping make UVM a safe and healthy place for all members of our community!
