Dear Faculty, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to share a number of timely updates.
- Summer session will be offered exclusively online.
- If this summer will be your first planned online teaching experience, you will need to complete the Teaching Effectively Online bootcamp (a two-week, 3.5 hour program) offered by Continuing and Distance Education to get you ready.
- We are working to ensure a successful final exam week. Your dean will soon be in touch to gather information about your final exam plans. As you plan, please consider assessment designs that are best suited to remote instruction. The Center for Teaching and Learning Teaching Continuity page has a range of resources, and CTL is offering workshops related to assessing student learning, as well as individual consultations.
- We are extending the call for nominations for the 2019-2020 President’s Distinguished University Citizenship and Service Award, the President’s Distinguished Senior Lecturer Award and the President’s Distinguished Lecturer Award. The new deadline is Friday, April 17, 2020.
Today I issued a similar message with dates and topics of significance to students. They will likely be reaching out to you with questions. Thank you in advance for all of your efforts to support them.
I am thinking of you all with gratitude and admiration. I hope you find some time to recharge this weekend.
With my best wishes to you and your families,
