Professor Luis Vivanco

The Global and Regional Studies Program at UVM is pleased to announce the winners of its 2015-2016 Awards:

 The winner of the 2016 Robert V. Daniels Award for Outstanding Contributions to International Education is Professor Luis Vivanco of the Department of Anthropology.  Dr. Vivanco is a cultural and environmental anthropologist who also serves as the co-director of the Humanities Center at UVM.  He served as founding director of the Global Studies Program in 2009 and previously helped to co-lead UVM’s semester study abroad program in Oaxaca.  He has held Fulbright Scholar awards in Costa Rica and Bogota.  One of Dr. Vivanco’s most recent publications is Reconsidering the Bicycle: an Anthropological Perspective on a New (Old) Thing (Routledge, 2013).
