Berlin--On February 25, several 4-H teamsters gathered at the University of Vermont (UVM) Extension Office in Berlin for the 2024 Working Steer Quiz Bowl.
The five competitors, all members of the Green Mountain Teamsters in Pomfret, racked up points by correctly answering questions relating to 4-H and the working steer project, including training and driving a team, along with general bovine animal husbandry topics. Each age group participated in two rounds of questions.
Competing in the Senior Division (ages 14-18) were Landon Campbell, Randolph, who came in first and Matt Whitney, Chelsea, who finished second.
Three 4-H’ers competed in the Junior Division (ages 8-13). Lily Larocque, Randolph Center, captured first place, followed by her sister, Lydia, in second and Clyde Tracy, South Royalton, third.
