The Musculoskeletal Imaging and Orthopaedic Biomechanics Lab (MIOB) is improving musculoskeletal health through scientific investigations of structure and function.
The MIOB Lab aims to improve health and performance for those with musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions. By employing experimental and computational methods, our work improves outcomes and reduces patient and healthcare burdens. Using MRI, we visualize disease and quantify anatomy; with dynamic x-ray, we capture bone motion. Our computational work integrates patient-specific MR-based models with dynamic motion data to estimate internal tissue mechanics.
