The Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Research & Design Core (BERD) supports our members to conduct the highest quality clinical and translational research. Our teams in Vermont and Maine consist of a variety of research navigators, statisticians and analysists poised to provide expert guidance and assistance.

Our Services and Levels of Support

The Idea Phase

Body

We can help you develop research questions & hypotheses, establish collaborative teams, evaluate the literature, identify helpful resources.

The Design Phase

Body

We advise on IRB and IACUC applications, develop databases, develop protocols, and identify effective sample sizes and measurements.

The Funding Phase

Body

We offer advice on relevant funding sources, developing grant timelines, and guidance through grant applications.

The Research Phase

Body

We offer advice on the research process, we consult on data collection and management, and advice to help you track and report on study progression.

The Analysis Phase

Body

We offer consultation on appropriate statistical methods, support with data analysis, and we train on statistical and analytical software.

The Reporting Phase

Body

We offer advice with manuscript, presentation, and poster preparations, consult on proper citation formats, and offer support with effective data visualization.
