About

Body

Student Interest Groups (SIGs) are a cornerstone of student life at the Larner College of Medicine. Led by medical students and supported by faculty and staff, SIGs offer opportunities to explore clinical interests, connect with peers and mentors, engage with communities, and support personal wellbeing beyond the formal curriculum.

Rather than focusing on one path, SIGs reflect the wide range of passions, identities, and goals within our student body—and students are encouraged to participate in as many ways as feel meaningful to them.

The Larner Medical Student Council oversees SIG administration and support. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or feedback.

Why Students Get Involved

Body

Through Student Interest Groups, Larner medical students can:

  • Explore medical specialties and career paths
  • Connect with faculty, residents, and community physicians
  • Participate in service learning and community outreach
  • Build leadership and organizational skills
  • Find balance, creativity, and community during medical school

Participation can be ongoing or occasional — many students engage during different phases of their medical education depending on interests and availability.
