The clerkship emphasizes the development of trusting relationships and acquisition of skills and knowledge related to the care of patients in the outpatient setting. We care for a diverse group of patients across the age spectrum, providing acute and chronic care, prevention, health maintenance and education.

Structure of the Clerkship
Our 6 week clerkship provides hands-on experience and aims to hone students clinical skills as they work within local communities in their family medicine clinics. Additionally, students work on developing Community Health Improvement Projects when they are not at the clinic.

Community Health Improvement Project
The Community Health Improvement Project enables students to pinpoint and tackle challenges in their host clinic's community through targeted interventions, emphasizing social determinants of health, quality improvement, and emerging health issues.
