The University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine believes that a strategic investment to increase access to residency programs will build a strong pathway for future residents and faculty. Our college is proud to offer scholarship opportunities to help support medical students who may face circumstances that would traditionally limit participation in visiting rotations.
The Visiting Student Scholarship Program (VSS) aims to support 4th year medical students, including those from historically underrepresented and underserved populations in medical school, whose diverse experiences and perspectives will contribute to excellence in our residency programs.
The Visiting Student Scholarship is designed to:
• Increase awareness of residency opportunities in Vermont, including for students from groups underrepresented and underserved in medicine;
• Provide clinical exposure within the University of Vermont Medical Center
• Provide up $2,500* to defray transportation and housing costs
