In this talk, participants will review the history of the medicalization of people born with intersex traits, and critically examine the limited data that exists to guide evidenced based treatment. By understanding the checkered past of intersex care, they will understand the importance of a demedicalized, multidisciplinary approach that emphasizes the importance of peer support and trauma-informed care.
