International loaners are intended for simple computing needs while traveling on UVM business. Their use is restricted to only web-based applications including email, OneDrive, and MS Teams. You cannot install applications on these computers. You may use VDI connections or VPN in countries that allow it.
It is incumbent upon you to know the rules and restrictions for the countries you visit and travel through and act accordingly. The configuration of these computers is meant to assist with compliance, but technology will never be a substitute for knowledge. Be prepared.
International loaners are available only with approval and reservation by the Information Security Office. Contact iso@uvm.edu for more details.
