BIO

Dr. Amer F. Ahmed joined the University of Vermont in 2021 serving as the Vice Provost for the Division of Intercultural Excellence. A nationally recognized practitioner and thought leader, Dr. Ahmed leverages diverse strategies, experiences, and theoretical perspectives to advance intercultural excellence and build capacity throughout institutions.

 

Modeling the principles of UVM's Our Common Ground values, Dr. Ahmed uses a collaborative approach to lead university-wide strategic initiatives to build capacity and foster a culture of mattering for all. He oversees UVM’s intercultural centers, chairs the University Intercultural Excellence Council, and works with the President’s Cabinet and the Provost’s Leadership Team to enact Intercultural Excellence across UVM.
