Before your first day
Please complete the following tasks prior to attending your orientation session.
- Print our your first day parking permit
- Set up your UVM NetID
- Install and activate the DUO Security app on your mobile device
- Login to UVM PeopleSoft > Human Resources to
- Update your W-4 if needed (please contact payroll@uvm.edu with any questions)
- Sign up for direct deposit (please contact payroll@uvm.edu with any questions)
- Add or update personal information and emergency contact information
- Review the benefits information in your Welcome Letter
- Review the the handbook or bargaining agreement pertinent to your role
On your first day
Welcome to UVM! While you get to meet your new coworkers and learn more about your role, please make sure you complete the following items:
- Attend New Employee Orientation (every Monday) from 10am-12pm via Teams.
- Log in to Kronos (hourly employees only)
- Complete the Qualtrics benefits enrollment form (emailed to you from benefits@uvm.edu)
- Complete the I-9 form with your department's HR Rep or at the Human Resources Office (Waterman Building, Room 280)
- Log into your UVM email account using Microsoft Outlook
- Visit the CatCard Service Center to set up you CatCard
- Download GET Mobile to deposit funds into your CatCard
- Explore transportation options for getting to and from work and create a commuting plan
- Apply for an on-campus employee parking permit
- Take the required parking permit course
- Fill out the permit application
- If desired, request to join the Zone 1 (Green Parking) waitlist (pro tip: join--it's worth the wait)
During your first two weeks
- Complete assigned trainings
- Complete the "new employee two-week survey" emailed to you by onboarding-hr@uvm.edu
- Download the LiveSafe app
- Email sarah.fornaby@uvm.edu to join a walking tour of campus led by a student AdvoCat
- Review the resource links outlined in the New Employee Orientation PowerPoint presentation
