BIO

As the Assistant Director of Fellowships, Dr. Browning seeks to inspire and encourage students and postdoctoral fellows to apply for fellowship funding as part of their career development while at UVM. She coordinates with programs across the university to provide training and guidance to trainees seeking funding opportunities. Dr. Browning aims to demystify the fellowship application process and bolster trainees’ confidence when applying for extramural funding.

Prior to joining UVM, Dr. Browning spent 5 years at the National Institutes of Health serving as a Scientific Review Officer and then as a Program Officer. Prior to joining the NIH, Dr. Browning served as a principal investigator at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research developing animal models and treatments for brain injury. A highlight of Dr. Browning’s career has been helping students and trainees develop their potential and pursue their career aspirations.

Dr. Browning received a PhD in neuroscience from Washington State University and completed post-doctoral training at the University of Maryland. Dr. Browning’s research interests have been broad across multiple fields of neuroscience and psychology, and she has presented her findings both nationally and internationally and published several papers in peer-reviewed journals.
